About Testagen
Testagen is the name assigned to the tetrapeptide Lys-Glu-Asp-Gly (KEDG), studied by V. Kh. Khavinson and colleagues among the short synthetic peptides of their bioregulator research program.
In cell-culture work, fluorescently labeled Testagen was reported to penetrate the cytoplasm and nucleus of HeLa cells and to bind preferentially to CAG-containing DNA oligonucleotides in a way sensitive to cytosine methylation; related work reported binding to the N-terminal regions of histones.
