About Prostamax

Prostamax is the four-residue peptide Lys-Glu-Asp-Pro (KEDP; PubChem CID 9848296, C20H33N5O9, ~487.5 g/mol), one of the short synthetic "peptide bioregulators" associated in the Khavinson framework with prostate tissue.

In the primary experimental report on this molecule, Prostamax was studied in rats with surgically induced chronic aseptic prostatitis; the authors reported reduced morphological signs of inflammation and, unlike the comparator agents tested, no promotion of atrophic change. This is a single-group, animal-model finding published in a non-PubMed-indexed journal and has not been independently replicated or evaluated in humans. Note that "Prostamax" is also used commercially for unrelated non-peptide products (herbal prostate supplements and other brands); this page refers only to the synthetic KEDP peptide.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Prostamax?

Prostamax is a synthetic tetrapeptide (Lys-Glu-Asp-Pro, KEDP) in the Khavinson class of short peptide bioregulators. It is supplied strictly for in vitro and preclinical laboratory research and is not a medicine, supplement, or consumer product.

What is Prostamax peptide?

It is the four-amino-acid peptide Lys-Glu-Asp-Pro, molecular formula C20H33N5O9 (~487.5 g/mol; PubChem CID 9848296). It has been studied preclinically in a prostate-tissue model; no human efficacy or safety has been established.

What is the sequence of Prostamax?

The sequence is Lys-Glu-Asp-Pro (single-letter KEDP) — lysine, glutamic acid, aspartic acid, proline — consistent with the PubChem entry (CID 9848296).

What does research on Prostamax show?

The main published study examined Prostamax in a rat model of chronic aseptic prostatitis and reported reduced morphological signs of inflammation versus comparators. The finding is preclinical only, from a single research group, and has not been replicated or validated in humans.

Is Prostamax approved for human use?

No. The synthetic KEDP peptide sold for research is not approved by the FDA or other regulators as a drug and is not intended for human or veterinary use. Available data are limited to preclinical research.
